Tigers Blast Orioles 7-2

BALTIMORE (WWJ/AP) - A three-run homer by Jhonny Peralta sealed the deal for the Detroit Tigers beating the Baltimore Orioles 7-2 on Friday night.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - the Tigers scored early and often in the victory over the Orioles.

Brennan Boesch had a two-run single in the first inning scoring Austin Jackson and Miguel Cabrera. Ryan Raburn doubled to score Alex Avila.

Cabrera hit his 19th home run in the fifth inning, a majestic drive to center off Luis Ayala that traveled an estimated 454 feet and provided Detroit with a 4-1 lead. Four batters later, Peralta hit a three-run, opposite-field shot to right off Dana Eveland.

Doug Fister (3-6) pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, giving up one run, striking out eight and no walks to earn his first road win in seven tries this season.

The Tigers moved three games over .500 (45-42) for the first time since April 24, when they were 10-7.
