Tigers Announce 2013 Spring Training Broadcast Schedule
DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced their 2013 Spring Training broadcast schedule, which features 35 radio broadcasts on WXYT, four television broadcasts on FOX Sports Detroit and one nationally televised game on ESPN.
In response to the tremendous demand for Tigers baseball, the radio broadcast schedule will feature 35 of the club's 36 scheduled Spring Training games. The lone exception is the road portion of a split squad game on March 2 against the New York Yankees. The expanded radio schedule will air on 97.1 FM The Ticket, WXYT 1270 AM and Tigers Radio Network affiliates. Schedule subject to change based on programming conflicts.
FOX Sports Detroit will broadcast four games during the Grapefruit League schedule, including March 4 against the Houston Astros at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, March 19 against the Tampa Bay Rays at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, March 21 against the Houston Astros at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland and March 25 against the Miami Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.
The Tigers will also be featured on ESPN on March 27 against the Philadelphia Phillies at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland. Additional Tigers games to be televised on the MLB Network will be announced at a later date.
This spring will mark the Tigers 77th season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city. The 2013 spring season marks the club's 48th consecutive season of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.
