Tigers 6, Orioles 5
BALTIMORE (WWJ/AP) - With two outs in the sixth inning the Tigers score five runs to take the lead and eventually get the win over the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Saturday night.
With a large crowd of Tiger fans cheering at Oriole Park at Camden Yards the Tigers were able to win their third game in a row as they get the come-from-behind win over the Orioles. The Tigers go nine games ahead of the .500 mark and stay 3 games ahead of the Cleveland Indians.
Miguel Cabrera homered in the sixth inning that featured six consecutive two-out hits.
Detroit trailed 5-0 in the second before mounting its biggest comeback of the season.
Baltimore's Jeremy Guthrie (5-16) took a two-hitter and a 5-1 lead into the sixth. He retired the first two batters before Magglio Ordonez doubled and Cabrera hit the next pitch over the right-field wall. Victor Martinez and Jhonny Peralta followed with singles, and Alex Avila hit a ground-rule double on a 3-0 pitch to cut the deficit to 5-4.
Ryan Raburn chased Guthrie by grounding a two-run single up the middle.
Max Scherzer (12-7) gave up four earned runs and seven hits over seven innings, striking out a season-high 10 and walking none.
