VIERA, Fla., (WWJ/AP) - Ryan Raburn hits a two-run homer in the first and the Detroit Tigers go on to beat the Washington Nationals 6-3 on Tuesday night.
As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - the Tigers scored in four of the five first innings and the Nationals never could catch up.
Duane Below pitched just over two innings, allowing four hits and one run with two strike-outs for the Tigers.
Washington right-hander Edwin Jackson struggled through three-plus innings,
Jackson allowed four runs, two earned, while giving up five hits, walking two and striking out two in 3 1-3 innings.
The two-run homer he gave up in the first inning to Rayburn came with two outs, one batter after left fielder Jason Michaels dropped a fly ball for an error.
Detroit starter Duane Below walked three batters in 2 2-3 innings but allowed only one run on four hits.
Rayburn finished with two hits.
Washington's Jayson Werth hit his second home run of the spring, a solo shot in the sixth inning.
