Tigers' 2011 Home Opener: April 8 Versus Royals
Opening Day at Comerica Park next season will occur on Friday, April 8, when the Tigers host Kansas City at 1:05 p.m.
Before that, the Tigers will play three-game series at Yankee Stadium and in Baltimore. The Tigers' season opener is Thursday, March 31, against the host Yankees. The next day will be an open date in case the opener is rained out.
The entire major league schedule for next season was announced Tuesday night. The season will start and end a half-week earlier than in recent years so the World Series won't continue to spill into November.
