Tiger Woods Misses Another Cut [BLOG]

While it has become painfully obvious that Tiger Woods will never win another major championship, one wonders what the heck happened at Torrey Pines this past week.
Torrey Pines is the host to the Farmers Insurance- or the first event on Tiger Woods PGA Tour calendar for 2014. It is also the place he has won eight times, including his final U.S. Open victory back in 2008.
Therefore, the fact that Woods missed the 54 hole cut with a Saturday score of 79- his worst ever round on American soil- makes you wonder if something is terribly wrong.
His scorecard on Saturday- included consecutive double bogeys immediately followed by four more bogeys-looked much more like one of my cards than that of a 14 time Major Champion and the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year.
To be fair, the cut missed was a secondary cut. That only comes into play when there are more than 76 players in the field through 54 holes. In other words, that made it even more embarrassing for the world number one.
Tiger supporters take heart. This performance will have no effect on Tiger's chances to win at any of the four majors this year. Those chances never existed. I mean after going oh for his last 20 Majors, how good were his chances anyways?
I even think Tiger may win another tournament this year, and eventually set a new PGA Tour record for tournaments won. After all, he was pretty good back in his day- or pre "Infidelity gate".
But to those of you that still think Tiger has a chance to sniff The Jack Nicklaus record of 18 majors? That ship has long sailed.
