Tiger In Contention At U.S. Open

For Tiger Woods to contend at the U.S. Open, he must continue to play as we discussed on last week's show-using irons and three woods off the tee. That is the only way he can hit the tricky fairways at any U.S. Open venue, especially at The Olympic Club.
In Thursday's opening round, Tiger did precisely that and was masterful. It looked just like years ago when he won The British Open by hitting two irons off most tees.
You simply cannot make par hitting out of the deep U.S. Open rough.
The key for Tiger is to continue to be patient, as pars are golden at a U.S. Open venue.
