As heavy rains move through the Detroit area, a severe thunderstorm watch is posted for Monroe and Lenawee counties until 11 p.m. An urban and small stream flood advisory is also in effect for Wayne County until 6 p.m.
Golf ball sized hail was reported near Milford, and the National Weather Service warned gusty winds and heavy downpours are possible.
The rain is expected to continue into the evening, before clearing up just ahead of a dry, partly sunny weekend with high temperatures in the 80s. (Check the weekend forecast).
