Three Degrees Of Pat Caputo: Three Areas The Lions Need To Improve Sunday At Tennessee
By: Pat Caputo
The Lions' performance, while starting the season with a victory over the Rams and a loss to the 49ers, has hardly been polished. These are three areas they need to show improvement during Game 3 Sunday at Tennessee against the 0-2 Titans:
1. The Lions need more impact from their receivers other than Calvin Johnson. Titus Young, Nate Burleson and Tony Scheffler only had one reception each vs. the 49ers. Brandon Pettigew had three catches, but for just 18 yards.
2. Quarterback Matthew Stafford must start throwing more touchdown passes than interceptions, by at least a three-to-one ratio.
3. The Lions' defense needs to start creating turnovers. It was a key to their 5-0 start early last season and has been lacking this season.
