Thousands Without Power After Storms
WARREN (WWJ) - Thousands of homes and businesses are without power Friday morning after gusty thunderstorms overnight.
DTE Energy says the storms knocked out power to about 10,000 homes and businesses scattered throughout Metro Detroit. One area is concentrated in a neighborhood at 8 Mile and Mound in Warren.
DTE officials say everything should be back up and running before the end of the day.

The wet weather will stick around Friday, with forecasters expecting a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain showers, which should taper off throughout the day.
Meantime, a record high temperature of 89 degrees was set in Detroit Thursday, breaking the old record of 88 degrees set in 1955.
