Thousands Lose Power In Thursday Storms
DETROIT (WWJ) - About 24,000 homes and business lost power early Thursday evening across Metro Detroit.
DTE spokesman Alejandro Bodipo-Memba said the outage are due to some gusty storms and the humid, 90-plus degree weather the area has been enduring over the past few days.
He said the outage had likely hit its peak by 7:30 p.m.
The outages were scattered, and included the Rochester and Shelby Township area.
Bodipo-Memba said DTE crews will be working throughout the night in an attempt to get the lights back on for everyone by morning.
DTE is constantly updating a power outage map to show residents where to expect the worst. Click here to check the map.
