Thousands Join Rebuild America March, Rally
Thousands of people demanding jobs marched from Hart Plaza to Grand Circus Park in downtown Detroit with UAW President Bob King and the Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday.
The march was the kickoff to the Rebuild America campaign that focuses on jobs, justice and peace.
Jackson said Detroit and Michigan are "ground zero of the urban crisis." Detroit and Michigan have been slower than other parts of the country to recover from the recession.
A series of similar marches are planned for other parts of the country leading up to one on Oct. 2 in Washington, D.C.
