This Is Who Terry Has Been Talking About, Brooke Daniels
Today Terry has been talking about the woman who Roy Williams sent the engagement ring to. Well here she is, Brooke Daniels who is a former Miss Texas. Let us know what you think about Brooke Daniels.
The best rule I can offer to anyone who wants to marry his significant other is this: Know for a fact that when you propose, she'll say yes.
Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams would probably agree with that rule and, since he's currently suing a former girlfriend, would also probably add: "Don't mail the engagement ring when you do propose."
See, according to the Odessa American, Williams is currently suing former 2009 Miss Texas USA Brooke Daniels in order to get a $76,000 engagement ring he sent to her. In the mail.
"I'm not going to talk about it," Williams told ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins on Wednesday. "It's a non-issue."
Well, actually it might be an issue -- Daniels' father Michael claims Williams didn't want the ring back, even after Daniels decided she didn't want to marry him. "He said to her, 'I'm not like a lot of people, I don't want the ring back. You'll eventually come back to me,' and she didn't," Michael Daniels said, per the OA.
The spiciest part about all this, though, is that apparently Texas law states that if the donor of the ring (perhaps you prefer "the engager"?) is at fault for terminating an engagement, the ring doesn't have to be returned.
In this case, Daniels' decision to terminate the relationship would actually require her to return the ring to Williams.
Of course, that still doesn't mean that, going forward, Williams should ignore my rule about marriage proposals.
