"The Tourist" Starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie
The pairing of Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in the romantic thriller "The Tourist," wasn't enough to capture the top spot of the weekend box office.
That feat was enjoyed by the "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," which debuted over the weekend and took in $24.5 million. "The Tourist," meanwhile, came in second with $17 million.

If you haven't seen "The Tourist" yet, but you have seen the previews, you probably have at least some idea of what the movie is about. Of course, by now you know that Johnny Depp plays the part of "The Tourist."
According to the movie studio, "Depp stars as an American tourist whose playful dalliance with a stranger leads to a web of intrigue, romance and danger. During an impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Depp's character, Frank, unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with Elise (Jolie), an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path."
The studio goes on to say that "their whirlwind romance quickly evolves as they find themselves unwittingly thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse."
Now, add this: should you decide to go see "The Tourist," be prepared for plenty of action and adventure set against the backdrop of the beautiful scenery of Paris and Venice. Also be prepared to leave your preconceived ideas at the door. "The Tourist" is anything but your run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter adventure.
