The CW50 Street Team Couldn't Stop Moving at the 2013 Movement Festival
Pulse-pounding beats, bass drops, and the sounds of hardcore techno music echoed through the streets of downtown Detroit as thousands of electronic music fanatics gathered in Hart Plaza for the 2013 Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF). The three-day event, also known as the Movement Festival, attracted an enthusiastic and passionate group of techno fans. With five stages and nonstop music, people came out to dance and listen to their favorite DJs. Andrew, an avid electronic music fan, said "I would describe this event as the biggest collection of house-heads and techno-heads in the world". The lineup featured well-known acts including MOBY, Squarepusher, Daniel Bell, and Andy C.
The fans were full of energy and came dressed in crazy and unique costumes. China Reevers and her friend Hailee Hussion, both dressed in creative outfits, said that they were enjoying the festival because it's the best place for electronic music. When describing the festival, China said "This is where electronic music began, and this is where it's gonna stay because Detroit is electronic music's home".
Intense dance battles could be seen almost everywhere on the festival grounds. Crowds gathered in large circles as electronic music lovers challenged one another by breakdancing and busting a move to their favorite dance songs. The CW50 Street Team got in on the action as they held a dance battle of their own. Team members Krystle and Jennifer faced off against fellow team members Scotty and Aaron in the battle of all dance battles.
With a host of after parties to round off the weekend festivities, electronic music fans were thrilled to be a part of one of the greatest electronic music festivals on the planet.
