The Best Latin Clubs In Detroit

The vibrant Detroit salsa scene is sensational. Numerous Latin-themed clubs and restaurants line the Detroit area. If you are looking spice up your nightlife, put on your hottest dance shoes and check out Detroit's finest salsa clubs.


Prices: Usually $5 and up, Ladies free Friday and Saturday before 10 p.m. and all day Sunday

Sabor Latino Club in Pontiac prides itself on being as authentic as possible. The club is modeled after Sabor Latino Night Club in Cancun, Mexico and the owner makes sure that the Pontiac spot brings the same flavor and spice that the Cancun one sets forth. The club offers a full-service bar, so be sure to try a Latin inspired cocktail. Don't miss the live music, outdoor patio, video games, and electric dance floor.


Hours: Mon to Thurs - 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Fri to Sun - 9 a.m. - 12 a.m., Sat - 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Los Galanes is located in the heart of Detroit's Mexican Town.  Although there are many Mexican establishments to choose from, most seem to gravitate toward Los Galanes for its great food and atmosphere. The popular restaurant is a favorite because of the nightclub that is above the restaurant. Friday and Saturday nights find the upstairs packed and the large dance floor rocking. The nightclub occasionally presents live entertainment as well.

Hours: Thurs to Sat - 9 a.m. - 2 a.m.

The Sky Club in Royal Oak is located above the Sangria Tapas Cafe.  The club itself can be accessed through the restaurant or at a separate side door outside the establishment.  Start the evening off with Sangria's "tastes of Spain" before heading upstairs to upscale Sky Club, which features one of the area's most unique Latin-inspired dance scenes.  Nights alternate between live music and live deejays. The club features Latin Nights and Top 40 dance nights.  Salsa lessons are also available.


Hours: Mon to Thurs - 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fri and Sat - 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sun - 12 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Vincente's Cuban Cuisine in Downtown Detroit is a family owned and operated restaurant that provides a Cuban decor, some great Cuban food and salsa dancing.  The establishment does a great job of bringing Havana to Detroit and provides guests with a "island fun" feel.  Lively Cuban music helps set the atmosphere and a spacious dance floor provides the entertainment as well as salsa lessons.


Hours: Mon to Thur. - 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Fri to Sat - 11 a.m. to 4 a.m.;  Sun - 11 a.m. to 2 a.m

Loco's Tex-Mex Grille is located in Downtown Detroit's Greektown area. The place is known for its festive atmosphere and homemade salsas and delicious margaritas. The Arriba club is located upstairs above the restaurant features a sound stage, huge dance floor, a great view and live entertainment.  A buffet style menu is also available for the club patrons.  Free salsa lessons are available.
