Terry Foster: MNF Again?
Chances are the Minnesota Vikings won't return to Ford Field to play their Monday Night football game against the Chicago Bears.
I am hearing the game will be played at the University of Minnesota if they can remove all the snow.
But if they did return I would show up. The atmosphere for a Bears-Vikings game would be a lot cooler than what we experienced Monay night against the New York Giants. The Giants won a boring 21-3 game against the Vikings.
The atmosphere was stale, boring and without much fan fare. But if you can get Vikings fans and Bears fans together in Detroit with more time for people to plan, that would be great. It might technically be a Vikings home game, but Bears fans would invade the place and make it a great atmosphere.
I am glad I attended Ford Field's first Monday Night football game because quite frankly it might be my last chance to attend a Monday night game in Detroit. The NFL is hardly burning up the phone lines to lure the Lions.
Detroit looked good. The fans were well behaved for the most part. That is what matters to me most. The tricky part for the crowd of 45,000 was who were you supposed to cheer for? This is Lions country and we still root for the home team.
I sure could not root for the Vikings because they ruined my childhood by whipping on the Lions all the time.
