Telegraph Road Construction Wrapping Up
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - As MDOT crews inch closer to completion of construction on Telegraph between 12 to 14 Mile roads, businesses in the area are relieved to see the orange barrels disappear.
At Impact, a direct staffing agency at 12 1/2 Mile and Telegraph, WWJ's Pat Sweeting spoke with Mike Cray, an associate services coordinator.
"There were some times when it cause some inconveniences, absolutely," said Cray.
But, for the most part ... we made sure to give anyone who needed to come in a heads up that it's a little slow and you need to keep your eyes open to find the sign. Because sometimes there would be trucks out front that would block it," he said.
Round-the-clock lane closures are history, for now, on northbound Telegraph Road between 12 Mile and Maple Road. Drivers will still find intermittent single-lane closures for the next few months, as crews complete sewer line work. As of Monday, the roadway was still down to two lanes between 13 and 14 Mile.
The entire $35 million project is set to wrap up mid-fall.
