Teens Injured In NC Crash Return To Michigan

BUCKLEY (AP) - Two teen-age girls from the northern Michigan community of Buckley have returned to their home state after being injured in a spring break car crash in North Carolina that killed a high school track star.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that 14-year-old Hannah Baldinger was admitted Wednesday to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Seventeen-year-old Paige Gokey was taken to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Both girls were passengers in a car driven by 17-year-old Haley Baldinger, who was killed after colliding with two tractor-trailers April 1.

Haley placed second in the 400-meter dash during state track finals in 2009 and held the school record for the event.

Buckley High School was planning to honor her during a track meet Thursday.
