Teens Could Face Charges For Prank Text
Three teenagers will likely face charges after a prank text launched a massive search last night in Macomb County. A 911 call from one of the boy's mothers who said she'd heard from her son, who said he was hurt in a bike accident.
"It was getting dark and we wanted him to be home and he text my husband and said he fell and he don't know where he is," the mother told WWJ.
A police search of Harrison Township continued for over an hour. Macomb County Sheriff's Department captain Tony Wickersham said they went all out looking for the boy -- a chopper was even summoned from the Coast Guard.
Wickersham said they finally found the teen at a friend's house.
"Once our deputies arrived and started talking to him, it was apparent to us that he wasn't involved in any accident and wasn't injured," Wikersham said.
Authorities are now looking to charge the boys with underage drinking, and maybe filing a false police report.
