Teen Fatally Shot Playing With Gun On New Year's
SAGINAW (AP) - Police say a 17-year-old accidentally fatally shot himself while playing with a gun during a celebration of the arrival of the New Year in Saginaw.
The Saginaw News reports Travon E. Price died after being shot in the head early Sunday. Police say he was playing with the gun inside his home after he and his 18-year-old brother had been outside firing into the air to mark the New Year.
Police say Price didn't believe there were any bullets still in the revolver. He was dead when officers arrived at the home shortly before 1 a.m.
Detective Sgt. Joseph Dutoi says the death is "being considered suspicious pending autopsy and a review by the prosecutor's office."
