Teen Dies After Playground Zip Line Accident
SPRINGFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - A 15-year-old Rose Township student has died after authorities said he accidentally became entangled in a zip line.
Oakland County Sheriff's officials said the teen was cut down by deputies and rushed to Genesys Hospital after he was found hanging from the chain and pulley mechanism Tuesday night.
He was pronounced dead Thursday night.
Authorities said the young man and an 18-year-old Springfield Township woman were playing on the equipment at Davisburg Elementary School when the accident occurred.
An autopsy will be performed by the Genesee County Medical Examiner's Office.
The victim was a student at Holly Area Schools. His name was not immediately released.
