Teen Charged In Pontiac High School Bomb Threat
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 14-year-old boy has been charged with making a threat that forced the evacuation of Pontiac High School.
The boy is being held at Children's Village pending a hearing next Monday.
Students, some of them scared, were left cooling their heals outside after the threat was called in Tuesday morning. A Michigan State Police Bomb Squad K-9 unit searched the building and classes were canceled for the rest of the day.
No device was found.
Pontiac Schools Superintendent Brian Dougherty called the whole thing "disturbing," adding that such scares in schools seem to be a trend in America. He told reporters school officials work hard to protect students and must take all such threats very seriously.
If found guilty, the unnamed teen faces up to five years in a juvenile detention facility.
