Take A Walk In Michigan's Only 'Dark Sky Park'
PETOSKEY, Mich. (WWJ) - Are you afraid of the dark?
There's no need to be frightened at Michigan's only internationally designated "Dark Sky Park" in Emmet County just north of Petoskey.
The Headlands is 600 acres of land that is protected by the state and federal governments from artificial light pollution. That allows visitors to see, perhaps for the first time in their lives, a truly dark night sky.
The Headlands is hosting Triple Fright Night on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Hundreds of people are expected to let their imaginations run wild during a one-mile walk in pitch darkness. The event begins at 8 p.m. Find out more HERE.
