SUV Driver Kills Elderly Pedestrian
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police are investigating the death of an elderly man who was hit by an SUV.
The accident took place on Van Dyke, south of McNichols, on the city's east side.
The driver of the SUV, also an elderly man, tried to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but was unable to. He then crashed into a utility pole, and suffered minor injuries.
Police say it was dark out at the time of the accident, and the pedestrian was not crossing the street at a cross-walk.
