Suspicious Package Left Outside Detroit McDonald's
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit McDonald's was swarming with police activity, early Friday afternoon, after a suspicious package was discovered.
WWJ Newsradio 950 listener Ann Byrne said she ordered a latte at the McDonald's restaurant on Springwell near I-75, but sped off before she could receive it.
As she pulled away, Byrne said she saw the Detroit Police Bomb Squad crowding around the package found near a railing outside the building.
Police blocked off the restaurant and detonated the object. No one was injured.
A source told WWJ Newsradio 950 a female McDonald's employee, who allegedly left the package, has been arrested. The source said the woman was unhappy with her employer when she was denied overtime hours.
