Suspicious Package At Ypsilanti Walmart
YPSILANTI (WWJ) - An Ypsilanti Walmart store was evacuated for a time, Thursday, after an employee found a suspicious package with wires attached to it. A bomb squad was called in to investigate, but officials said it "turned out to be nothing."
WWJ Newsradio 950 listener "Jason" said he had tried to enter the store, before realizing that no one was being allowed in.
"I was stopped by several police and a whole bunch of emergency personnel. They've got the parking lot all taped off, and they said there was a suspicious package delivered and they don't know what it is... They blocked everything off including the parking lot. The cleared out and evacuated the entire Walmart," he said.
The store, located on Ellsworth Street, has reopened.
No injuries were reported.
