Suspects To Appear In Court For Pharmacy Robbery
FERNDALE (WWJ) - Three men, accused in a frightening robbery at a pharmacy in Ferndale, are scheduled to appear in court Thursday. And, they may be in more trouble than they bargained for.
That's because the armed robbery of a pharmacy is a federal crime and the feds have now stepped in to take over the case. The three suspects will appear in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
Meanwhile, Fox 2-TV reports the Ferndale pharmacy on West Nine Mile has closed its doors for good. According to reports, the employees there were tied up and terrorized by the armed men Monday night during the robbery. One worker was wounded by bullet fragments. But, it was a fast-thinking employee who helped get police to the scene quickly by dialing 911 on a cell phone and leaving the phone line open, which allowed police to hear the whole robbery unfold and subsequently catch the suspects.
The pharmacy was broken into once again on Wednesday, but that time no one was inside.
Two 19-year-old suspects and a 41-year-old suspect were arrested for the armed robbery and will appear in federal court, on Thursday, to face charges.
