Suspects Sought In I-94 Robbery
DETROIT (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are looking for two men who preyed on a man whose car broke down on a Detroit freeway overnight.
Lt. Michael Shaw said the driver pulled over along I-94 near Cadieux around 3:30 a.m. When he emerged from his car to see what was wrong, he was approaced by two men with a gun.
"The victim also had a registered CPL (concealed pistol license) and had his handgun with him," l Shaw said. "But in his attempt get his handgun he was warned off by the two suspects that he would get shot if he went for his weapon."
The suspects took off running up the embankment after robbing the driver of cash and his pistol.
Police believe the suspects spotted the disabled driver from either the embankment or an overpass.
The suspects remained at large Tuesday afternoon. Police are hoping to put together a composite sketch.
