Suspects Identified In Pontiac Double Murder
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police have identified the two young people involved in the shooting deaths of two women in Pontiac.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department said 15-year-old Semaj Moran is being charged as an adult in the slayings of 58-year-old Luann Robinson and 52-year-old Loretta Fournier. Police say Moran was the "actual shooter." He's facing multiple charges, including first degree murder.
Also charged in the slayings is 22-year-old Arnold Howard. He's facing charges of felony murder and home invasion.
Police say both Moran and Howard have criminal histories. Moran has been in Oakland County Children's Village two times prior, when he was 13- and 14-years-old, for larceny, while Howard's past includes receiving stolen property, felony drug charges and fleeing and eluding police.
Both suspects were arraigned Monday and jailed without bond. They are due back at 50th District Court in Pontiac on Thursday.
The bodies of Robinson and Fournier were discovered Friday night at their home on Pingree, northwest of downtown Pontiac, by police who were asked to check on the two. Investigators say Moran and Howard knew the victims and took one of their purses before fleeing.
The murder weapon, which police believe is a .45 caliber semi-automatic, has not been recovered. Police think it could have been disposed of in a nearby field, but a search of the area by detectives and a Sheriff's K-9 proved negative.
Detectives believe someone may have found the weapon in the heavily travelled area. Police say anyone who has information about the gun or turns the gun in will be given a cash reward.
