Suspect With Tattooed Forehead Steals Hoverboard From Child Playing In Driveway [VIDEOS]
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Authorities in Macomb County are hoping the public can help identify a suspect who robbed a child who was playing with a hoverboard outside of his home.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. last Saturday, April 16, at a home in the 25000 block of Pattow, in a neighborhood along Frazho Road just west of I-94 in Roseville.
According to police, a boy was standing in the driveway of his residence holding a hoverboard when the suspect approached and asked for a drink. When the boy told the man he didn't have anything to drink, police say the suspect grabbed the hover board and told the victim he did not want to hurt him.
After wrestling the hoverboard away from the child, the suspect ran south toward Church Street where police believe he got into an older model blue sedan and fled the scene.
Police say verbal threats were made during the incident, which was recorded on the home's surveillance system, but no weapons were observed. The child was uninjured.
According to police, the suspect's vehicle, possibly a Ford Taurus, was later observed by a witness in area of Pattow and Church and was occupied by one or two other people, leading investigators to believe he may live in the area.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately 30-years-old and 6-feet tall with a medium build and a tattoo of a cross on his forehead. He was wearing gray pants, a white tank-top and white hoodie pulled up over his head.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has any other information is urged to contact police at 586-447-4506.
