Suspect Sketch Released In Child Sex Assault At Salvation Army Store

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities in Monroe County are looking for help from the public to identify a man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a child in a restroom at thrift store.

Sheriff officials say a 10-year-old girl was using the women's bathroom at the Salvation Army store — at 1525 Mall Rd. in Frenchtown Township — when the stranger entered, molested her and then exposed his genitals before fleeing.

It happened Wednesday, April 8, at around 1 p.m.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged white male about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He had a beard and/or dirty face and possibly a crooked nose and was wearing a baseball cap and dirty blue jeans with a short jean coat and dark brown or black shoes.

Officials were able to put together a sketch of the suspect based on the girl's description.

Anyone who may recognize the man in the sketch or who has any information about this crime is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-753 or 734-240-7700.
