Suspect At Large In Attempted Armed Robbery
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Farmington Hills police are searching for one of two men they say pointed a gun at a in her garage in an attempted robbery.
Two helicopters and more than a half-dozen police cars are swarming a neighborhood where WWJ Newsradio 950 listener Joe, who didn't want to give his last name, said officers had their guns drawn in a neighborhood along 10 Mile Road between Middlebelt and Orchard Lake.
"It looks like they're surrounding a subdivision -- not a particular house, because there were police on every single road going into that south side of 10 Mile," he said.
Police said they caught one of the suspects after a foot pursuit, and found a bag and the suspected gun that was used in the incident.
Gregory, who lives in the area, said he got a call from his daughter who watched some of it unfold.
"The kids were over at Lanigan Elementary School and all of a sudden they seen a gentleman run by, maybe about a hundred yards aways from them with police in chase," he said. "He actually went through a hole in the fence over at Lanigan Elementary and that was the last they saw of him."
Authorities are not releasing further details about the incident, but they're asking anyone with information about the suspect still at large to call police.
