Suspect Arrested In Shooting Of Elderly Detroit Woman
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police have made an arrest in connection with Friday morning's shooting of a 72-year old woman in Detroit.
According to police, the 23-year-old suspect forced his way into the woman's home on Sussex, near Fenkell and Greenfield, around 5 a.m. Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said investigators were able to track the suspect's footprints in the fresh snow to a nearby vacant home, where he was arrested.
The woman suffered several gunshot wounds to her body and was taken to the hospital for treatment. She was reported in temporary serious condition later in the morning.
Stephens said a weapon was recovered.
No names have been released.
