Summer Swelter With No Relief In Sight At The Pump
DETROIT (WWJ) - Gas prices in Michigan continue to climb. According to AAA, the price for a gallon of regular went up by about 3 cents over the last week to $3.94 per gallon.
This is almost 30-cents higher than the national average of $3.64. Of course it could be worse - the prices were almost 30-cents higher this time last year.
AAA Newsroom says that entering the summer months, they expect that drivers will experience little relief at the pump. Continuing geopolitical concerns, major refinery disruptions or a severe hurricane season (June 1- November 30) could send the national average higher than anticipated, while the absence of such catalysts could allow prices to fall below this range.
The cheapest gas in the state is up in the UP in Marquette at $3.76 per gallon.
