CBS DETROIT - Star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has officially signed with the Miami Dolphins, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
News broke Sunday, during the three-day negotiating period that precedes the official start of free agency, that Suh and the Dolphins had come to an agreement. The soonest Suh could sign the reported six-year, $114 million contract with $60 million guaranteed was Tuesday at 4 p.m., but Tuesday came and went without the team making the acquisition official.
By Wednesday morning, however, the line "Detroit Lions Defensive Tackle" had disappeared from Suh's Twitter bio, and the large photo of him in Lions jersey had been replaced by his personal logo.
Later that day, the Dolphins made their first public mention of the defensive tackle, via their Twitter account.
The Lions offered Suh a six-year, $102 million deal with $58 million guaranteed to stay in Detroit.
