Substitute Teacher Enters Plea In Child Sex Case
PONTIAC (WWJ/AP) - A substitute teacher in metro Detroit who was charged after authorities say he had sexual contact with an elementary school student has entered a plea deal.
Court records show Andrew Howell pleaded no contest Wednesday to one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 7-year-old girl. The 58-year-old Farmington Hills man is due back in Oakland County Circuit Court for sentencing on Nov. 1.
Howell, who has been a substitute teacher for over 25 years, was arrested in March after police say he had sexual contact with a female student. The alleged incident took place during school hours at Hillside Elementary in Farmington Hills.
A no contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.
