Study: Severe Heart Attack Victims Becoming Younger
DETROIT (WWJ) - There's more awareness about heart disease and ways to prevent it.
But are we following that advice?
WWJ health reporter Dr. Deanna Lites has details of a new study.
A study from the Cleveland Clinic finds that patients suffering the most severe type of heart attack have become younger, are more obese and more likely to have risk factors that are preventable such as smoking, high blood pressure or diabetes.
Researchers say these findings show that while strides have been made in treating heart disease, more needs to be done in educating patients about ways to prevent it.
