Students At Michigan Tech Run For Boston victims
HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) — Students from Michigan Technological University have held a run in support of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Ben Wittbrowt is a member of Team Red, White and Blue. He says the 1.5-mile run in the Upper Peninsula community of Houghton was a way to do that. Wittbrowt says he wanted to give people "an outlet to do something." More than 50 ran, escorted by police.
In suburban Detroit, people gathered Sunday night for an interfaith candlelight vigil for victims of the bombings. The Detroit News reports speakers representing Muslims, Jews and Christians said people shouldn't allow differences with others to drive them apart.
The vigil, held in downtown Royal Oak, was attended by about 50. They prayed and held a moment of silence for the victims.
