Street Closures In Effect As City Readies For Thanksgiving Day Parade
DETROIT (WWJ) - Street closures are now in effect in midtown -- as the floats are lined up ready for Thursday's Thanksgiving Day parade.
Bibi Beaumont was among those happy to get an up close and personal look at this year's offerings.
"It makes me really excited ... I left work just now, and I saw it on the street and I was like 'oh, that's really cool - what's going on?' Then I remembered it was the parade which is always exciting," said Beaumont.
With 26 floats, 10 marching bands, and appearances by Mike Posner, Martha Reeves and Keegan Michael Key, the parade is the second largest in the nation, behind the Macy's parade in New York.
