Stocks Slide As Investors Continue Sell-Off
Stocks are falling as investors continue a sell-off that began a day earlier over worries about the pace of the recovery.
Investors are finding little reason to buy stocks Friday. There are no reports due out that could negate Thursday's disappointing news that growth in the domestic economy continues to slow.
Oil prices are extending their slide on worries that future demand will wane if economic growth remains tepid.
The Dow Jones industrial average is down 101.64, or 1 percent, at 10,166.16. The Standard & Poor's 500 index is down 9.82, or 0.9 percent, at 1,065.81, while the Nasdaq composite index is down 15.53, or 0.7 percent, at 2,163.42.
