When it comes to reading books, I usually say "I will just wait for the movie." Yes, I know I'm 30 and the educated answer would be "I love to read!" And in this case, it's true: When I saw the new Sports Illustrated coffee table book 'Baseball's Greatest' I had to get my hands on it. The book is awesome. It's full of photos -- and not just any photos -- but those great photos that you will find in the first few pages of your normal Sports Illustrated magazines.
In the book, there are top 10s for every position in the game of baseball as well as top ball parks and managers. The likes of Hank Greenberg, Eddie Matthews, Miguel Cabrera, Al Kaline and Sparky Anderson are all featured in the book.
I had the chance to talk with Stephen Cannella, who is the assistant managing editor of Sports Illustrated about how the the rankings came about.
Cannella also talks about how Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Mark McGwire are featured in the book even with the steroid alligations. Make sure to listen to the podcast below as Cannella explains why Miguel Cabrera is the 9th best third baseman of all time.
