Stem Cells and Detroit
The city of Detroit becomes the stem cell capital of the world next month.
Downtown Detroit will host the World Stem Cell Summit October 4-6.
Scientists from the world's top universities (Cambridge, Harvard, the University of Michigan) will be here, sharing the latest developments in their research on spinal cord injuries, diabetes, Lou Gehrig's Disease and more.
There will be forums for patients and for investors.
Topics will include "stem cell tourism," the ethics of using embryonic stem cells, and discussions on how stem cells will extend life expectancy.
