VIDEO: Stanley Cup Sporting New Dent After Tumble In Newfoundland
ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland (WWJ) - The Stanley Cup took an unexpected fall from a table during a stop in Newfoundland.
A YouTube video shows the Stanley Cup trophy being carried through a crowd and placed on a table ... where it promptly falls off the unsteady table.
According to the Associated Press the trophy was being readied for a helicopter flight from St. John's to Bonavista, the hometown of former Boston Bruin Michael Ryder, when it took the tumble.
Although the Stanley Cup was quickly recovered it does have a new dent to add to its traveled story.
The Boston Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup with a four games to three victory over the Vancouver Canucks. The Bruins had not won a Stanley Cup in 39 years.
