Stafford Says Only Numbers That Are Important Are Wins
Matthew Stafford isn't in the business to compile passing statistics. He's in it to compile wins. So don't bother to ask him about reprising his 5,000-yard, 41-touchdown season of 2011. "I don't really care if I throw for 5,000 yards," he said. "It was a great team accomplishment, but at the same time, I would gladly throw for 4,000 yards if it got us a couple more wins."
Stafford, for the first time since his rookie season, didn't have to spend the offseason rehabbing an injury. He said he spent six weeks training in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and said he feels as fresh and fit as he ever has.
"It's obviously nice not to have to put myself back together again," he said. "I am just trying to maintain and get stronger. I am happy to be feeling good and hit the ground running."
