Spring-Like Weather The Next Two Days

DETROIT (WWJ) - Especially if the rain stays away, we can look forward to a couple of beautiful, spring-like days in the D.

AccuWeather forecaster Dave Bowers says Thursday will be a very mild day -- with temperatures rising to about 15 degrees above normal to a high around 60 -- for the first time this year.

We could see a couple of rain showers Thursday night into Friday as a front slips through, but, other than that, Bowers says we'll see cloudy skies as the milder temps continue, before dropping a bit, back into the upper 40s, for the weekend.

The warmth will be bounded by areas from Houston, northward to Chicago, eastward to Boston, New York and Jacksonville and beyond.

AccuWeather's Expert Senior Meteorologist  Alex Sosnowski said the potential is there for some of the warmest weather since last fall for portions of the South, Midwest and the Northeast Thursday into Saturday.

Not only will Friday be the warmest day yet this year for Philadelphia, but it could also end up being the warmest day for the date on record. The temperature is forecast to rise near the record high of 78 degrees, which was set in 1989.
