'Space Math' Connects School To The Real World
Students are always asking why they need to learn concepts in mathematics, and what these formulas apply to. To help students better understand the connection between equations and the real world, NASA has created a website called "space math" which asks students in middle and high school to solve problems based on real space exploration issues.
These can include such questions as hoe hot a probe gets as it approaches the sun, or how much of a comet will a passing space explorer see. Developed by the Goddard Space Flight Center, the site includes new problems each academic year. Find out more here.
