Southfield Police ID Person Of Interest In Deadly Nightclub Shooting
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A person of interest has been identified in the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old woman at a Southfield nightclub on Easter.
The shooting took place at Myst Ultra Lounge, on Franklin Road and Northwestern Highway, around 2:15 a.m. on March 31. When police arrived on the scene, they found Nicole Riggs, an Oak Park resident, inside the club suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to police, several subjects were ejected from the club following an altercation. A short time later, an unknown person or persons fired gunshots from the parking lot into the club. Riggs was killed by one of these gunshots.
After review footage from the club's security cameras, investigators say they were able to identify a "person of interest." according to police, this individual was involved in the altercation with security personnel and is one of the subjects that was ejected from the club.
While police aren't sure if he is the gunman, they do believe the man might have some critical information about the shooting.
Police are now reaching out to the public for help in identifying the man, who they believe was driving a white mini-van or a white conversion van.
