Southfield Health Center Adds More Spine Treatment

Southfield-based Advanced Spine and Headache Center Monday announced its expansion into a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of neck and back pain caused by an auto accident, sports injury, or work related injury.

"Our main objective was to integrate physical medicine, chiropractic, physical and massage therapy, and family medicine under one location," said founder Dr. Alex Meltser. "Not only would this type of facility be convenient to patients, but more importantly, this allows us to globally address the most challenging neck and back ailments that often result from aforementioned injuries."

The center's comprehensive rehabilitation program is aimed to accelerate patients out of pain, to educate them about their condition and to get them functionally better and stronger than they were before the accident or injury, ultimately improving their quality of life.

"We focus on addressing and correcting the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms," Meltser said. This expansion enables the center to double its capacity for incoming patients seeking relief to life-altering neck and back pain. With its global approach, the Center also offers procedural claims advice for those patients that were involved in an auto accident or work related injury. We help our patients understand their 'no fault' (auto insurance) benefits and assist them with filing their claim in a timely manner, so their care and potential for recovery is not compromised. We often see patients without medical insurance who were injured in an auto accident, not knowing that they may qualify for medical treatment under their no fault automobile insurance policy."

Advanced Spine and Headache Center, established in 1997, uses a non-surgical, non-invasive, comprehensive approach to treat acute, traumatic and chronic spinal conditions and headaches. The center's primary emphasis is rehabilitation for pain and injury caused by bulging or herniated discs. Located in Southfield, the center employs chiropractors, physical and massage therapists in addition to medical specialists, offering comprehensive treatment for neck and back pain, including non-surgical spinal decompression therapy.

Meltser holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree and is state and national board certified. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and Michigan Association of Chiropractors.
