Southfield Accident Leaves 22-Year-Old Dead

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - An overnight crash in Southfield has left a 22-year-old dead and another person injured.

Authorities say the accident happened at 3 a.m. when David Roberto was stopped in the shoulder of the Lodge Southbound at Lahser and an SUV slammed into his car-- killing him.

Both cars flew across the road, hit the median and burst into flames. The freeway was shut down for nearly four hours as crews cleaned up after the crash.

State police say alcohol was most likely a factor.
